Creating a Website

1. Determine audience and purpose

Think about your site's main audience and why people will visit it.

2. Find a host

Many districts house their own Web servers and allow space for  teachers if  you are creating a classroom Web page.

3. Design your site

Layout, graphics, colors, ease of navigation

Too many graphics, colors, and fonts will take longer to load and will distract your viewers.  Use a graphic organizer to help you design a site that is easy to navigate.

4. Keep it Updated

Web pages need to be updated regularly.  When designing your site, keep in mind how often you will be able to update the material and create accordingly.  Information should be current.  New material give a reason to revisit the site.
